How to fix Outlook Express Error Codes 0x800c0133:
The error code 0x800x0133 Corrupted Inbox file error can be caused by many different factors, including a bad registry key, and corrupted inbox due to a virus or malaware, or just because Outlook likes to keep us guessing.
Option #1:
The first step to take would be to restart your computer. I know you have heard this before, but it really seems to help. This is one of the best ways to cure the problem. If after the computer restart the problem persists, proceed:
• In outlook express head over to the tools and then to the options, maintenance then store folder. This will show you where you Outlook Express files are stored.
• You will need to turn off Outlook Express at this point to continue.
• Go to the start menu, and click either run, or in the search field enter the file location.
• Rename inbox.dbx to something else, and then Outlook Express will automatically create a new inbox for you, due to it not detecting any of the .dbx files. You can now skip to Option 3 to see how to restore your old emails.
This should have helped you conquer your Outlook Express Error Code 0x800c0133!
Option #2:
Ensure that you total mail inbox is not larger than 2GB. If it is, the Outlook will display this error message due to a inbox that is larger than Outlook can understand. To rectify this, create a new folder in the Outlook Inbox called “new inbox” or something along those lines, transfer enough files from your main inbox to the new folder, and then do the following:
• Click import and then click messages in the outlook express file menu
• select outlook express 6 from the options
• choose import from oe stored directory, which will enable you to choose your newly backed up emails and transfer them to your outlook in .eml format.
• browse to the folder where you created the newly backed up .dbx files and then click next
• select the selected folder option to tell outlook to use the folder you chose earlier and then once again click on the next button
Microsoft Outlook Express will now start importing all of the emails from the broken folder and it will import the excess files into the overflow folder.
Once you have done this entire process, delete the inbox.dbx file and createa new empty mailbox to send and receive the emails.
After this process the likelihood is that your mailbox will once again fit comfortably in the under 2GB range due to Microsoft Outlook Express optimizing your files and compressing them properly when you do the transfer.
Option #3:
• Download MiTeC Mail Viewer and install it.
• Once installed and extracted open the folder named Mailveiw
• Open the icon MailView to start the .eml transfering program
• In MailView, click File and then click on open
The files will be at:
C:\Windows\Application Data\Outlook Express\{GUID}
or
C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{GUID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
• Select your old dbx file and choose the browse file to find the dbx file.
• Next, create a new folder on your desktop and name it anything, just be sure to remember what you called it and where it is stored.
• Back in the MailView right click on any of your email messages and then click check all, to select all of the emails the program has come up with
• Head over to message, then save and then email
Point the browse menu to the new folder you just created on your desktop and then click ok
You now have all of your emails available to open through MiTeC Mail Viewer.
Good luck, and I hope you are able to fix Outlook Express Error Code 0x800c0133
